Taranaki (aka Egmont) is NZ’s most hiked mountain. It is a volcanic mountain off in the left corner of the North Island, and it creates its own weather system. Parts of the area get seven meters of rainfall each year. The hike wasn’t easy, but ye gods was it gorgeous up there.
