I took an InterCity bus from Auckland to Wellington. We were early getting to Taupo, so the driver took us on a 5 minutes detour to see Huka Falls. I took a couple of movies of the falls as well. The picture of the snow-capped mountain across Lake Taupo was a bit of a challenge. We only had 20 minutes and the travel center was some distance from the lake. I started out at a fast walk, but ended up jogging since there were always other buildings blocking the view until I got all the way down to the lake. I had to run all the way back, and made it about 2 minutes before the bus pulled out.
